The stonework of the building have been left as part walls of the conservatory for a unique finish and the frames have been manufactured in black PVC-u to really stand out.

Bespoke conservatories are made to measure ensuring you always get something unique to you and your property – where ever your based. CTG Windows are based in Hayle but supply and install to a vast range of Cornwall including the surrounding areas of St. Ives, Penzance, Redruth, and Truro.

A Gable Conservatory in Connor Down, Hayle

Not far from our offices a customer in Connor Down, Hayle has recently had a Gable Conservatory in white PVC-u installed. This particular customer had already used CTG Cornwall Ltd before when we fitted a composite door, so we were delighted the customer contacted us again.

Gable conservatories are really unique, with a brick base – that matches that of the brickwork used in your home, they feel more like an extension than the tradition conservatory. The high vaulted roof creates a sense of space and gives you opportunities to design a unique finish – such a sunburst design or use of Georgian astragal bars. They have a lot of personality and the shape of the windows makes them ideal for blinds.

Gable conservatories look fantastic in Cornwall as they really fit in with the current architecture; CTG Windows are based in Hayle but cover a wide area in Cornwall and can offer Gable conservatories in Truro, Penzance, St. Ives, Redruth, and many more.

The Woodgrain Effect on Composite Doors

Once upon a time all homes were built with the hardwood windows and doors. However, eventually it was realised that these were extremely vulnerable to the elements and, without proper maintenance, they could easily become cracked or rotted and were not very energy efficient.

A short while later a new product was introduced – PVCu. Instantly popular with installers and home owners alike, PVCu is easy to maintain and drastically brought down the costs. There were a few however who thought that there could still be improvements and missed the natural effect of wood.

Now, you can have the best of both worlds, with woodgrain effect composite windows and doors! Woodgrain composite is aesthetically alike the hardwood originals but with the easiness of PVCu. Unlike wood they do not expand or contract in the heat/cold and so you never have to worry about them sticking or letting in any draughts, nor do they bend or warp. They are easy to clean, needing only a bucket of soap water and wipe down on the rarest of occasions.

Woodgrain composites look fantastic in period properties as they are so close to the hardwood cousins of the past and therefore retain the character of your home.

Composite windows and doors are made by mixing different materials together to form a rigid structure, designed specifically to solve the problems associated with PVCu and Hardwood, and the outer frame is reinforced with galvanised steel to keep them strong, ensuring they last for decades.

Looking at its best qualities, you can really see why so many people are choosing woodgrain effect composites over any other type of product. It offers you:

  • A great look with a classic wood finish
  • High insulation performance
  • A guarantee of durability
  • A fantastic range of colours to suit all needs
  • The confidence of security (with Secured by Design approval)
  • Simple, easy, and rarely-needed maintenance
  • Even more options of glass, from stain-glass to privacy, all with enhanced thermal efficiency

Bay & Bow Windows by CTG Windows

In the eighteenth century a new kind of window entered into the architecture of the UK – bay and bow windows. Designed to create more space by protruding beyond the outside wall of the building, these windows created better views of the outdoors, let in more natural light, and typically increased the value of your home.

Bay windows tend to be made up of 4 or more casement windows which, when joined together, form an arch, however a triangular 3 set is not unheard of either. Typically a bay window would be ‘box shaped’ or ‘squared’ and designed to hold plants or to be filled with ornaments. The other options would be what’s called a ‘splayed’ design and forms more of an arched view, which is called a bow window. Height can vary from a full room to just under head height, to floor. Full room height bay windows are less common but create a fantastic nook in your room which can be used for many things but often are filled with a window seat or used as a seated breakfast area.

The results are a wider space with greater natural light, filling the room with a warmer feeling. This can be softened or filtered with different types of window treatments as well.

With developments in windows and frames, CTG Windows are able to offer bay & bow windows in a range of different colours and finishes so you will always be able to find the right look for your home, and even match to your other windows and doors.

We love the results of bay and bow windows and seeing the different ways our customers finish off their looks, with flowers, plants, blinds, curtains, or cushioned wide sills for a reading space.
